Mudgee is gaining a reputation for good wines made from Petit Verdot. We think ours will not harm that reputation. The deep blood red colour is typical of this mid-season ripening variety which apart from being a useful blender offers different aromas and flavours from more common varieties. This wine shows a combination of flowery aromas and leather/tobacco. The palate is distinctly varietal with persistent yet soft tannins all the way to the back palate. The French oak provides some support while the varietal flavours dominate. Awarded 3 stars by Winestate Magazine 2008
